Saturday night, really Sunday morning, and hours after I finish my discrete mathematics assignment, I lie in bed and prepare to drift off.
I'm having a little trouble drifting. Suddenly, homework
"Oh. Is that what I did wrong? Did I misread the directions? Noooo." For one problem I got a different answer than what was in the back of the book and I didn't see how they got what they did. Now I do. Maybe.
"How tricky! Assuming that I'm remembering it right. Am I?" I scroll through the scrap of code in my mind. We were supposed to determine the Order of a looped structure. I did that problem several times before I got it "right" and then I was still wrong.
"No, maybe it was a different one. But, hmm. That's how they got an Order of 1. You enter the loop once and then leave without looping. Sheesh. And I spent so much time on it. Unless"
Oz asks me if I need to get up and make notes.
"No, I'll remember this."
My subconscious never takes a holiday.

We traveled to Norfolk this past Saturday on a family trip. While on the way there, I suddenly had the idea to try to find "your" bookstore mentioned 4.26.04. My husband was willing for a detour, but once we arrived in Phoebus, we were uncertain of the location of the store as I had not planned ahead for this! We did find an interesting store by the name of Benders on Mallory St., which possibly was the correct one. The sign out front advertised selections of books, magazines, newspapers. Inside we found an impressive quantity of unusual items. Everyone was able make at least one selection and I purchased a pristine copy of Eats, Shoots & Leaves. Thanks for the recommendation!

It's definitely one of the more unusual used bookstores I've ever been in, what with the stacks of books "not ready" to be sold.
